East Brewton 9-10s win one in tournament

In their district tournament in Brewton, the East Brewton 9-10s went 1-2 in their pool to end their season.
East Brewton opened the tournament with a 10-5 loss to South Alabama on Friday and a continued game Saturday after rains cancelled games Friday night.
Also on Saturday, East Brewton lost to Opp 15-3 before defeating Evergreen Sunday night 11-2.

Friday/Saturday: South Alabama 10, EB 5
Leading 3-0 Friday night before heavy rains and lightning postponed the game until Saturday, East Brewton looked like they would be heading to a win.
With the resumed game Saturday morning, East Brewton gave up two runs in the third inning and four in the fourth to find themselves down 6-3.
After cutting the lead to 6-5 with two runs in the fifth, South Alabama scored four in the sixth and held East Brewton to no runs to get the win by five.
Jacoby Hawthorne, Dylan Ingram, Matt Thomas and Tucker Davenport all pitched in the loss with Ingram being the pitcher of record.
At the plate, Jennings Hobbs was 2-for-4 with a double and Thomas was 1-for-2.
Tyler Williams was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs and Tyler Pierce was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

Saturday: Opp 15, EB 3
In their second game Saturday, eventual tournament champion Opp rolled to a win over East Brewton by 12, 15-3.
Opp scored nine runs in the first inning along with two in the second and four in the third while holding East Brewton to one in the third and two in the fourth.
Davenport pitched in the loss for East Brewton.
At the plate, Hawthorne was 1-for-3 with a double and Hobbs was 2-for-2 with a double.
Thomas was 1-for-3 and Williams was 1-for-2.

Sunday: EB 11, Evergreen 2
In their final game of the tournament Sunday, East Brewton picked up their lone win as they defeated Evergreen 11-2.
East Brewton used a five-run first inning and three runs in the third to take an 8-0 lead.
Evergreen would cut the lead to 8-2 in the fourth inning, but East Brewton added three in the fifth to get the win by nine.
Hawthorne pitched the complete game for East Brewton allowing two hits and two runs with none earned. Hawthorne walked one and struck out 11.
At the plate, Hawthorne was 1-for-2 with a triple and two RBIs and Williams was 2-for-3.
Davenport was 2-for-2 with a double in the win.
