Yoder held on drug charges

Brewton Police have put a suspected drug dealer behind bars following an investigation that led to an undercover sting by the Department’s narcotics division.
Christy Lynn Yoder, 31, of lot 30 at 210 Ball Lane in Brewton, was arrested and charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance which was identified as cocaine. The arrest was made Tuesday by members of narcotics division according to Sgt. Andrew Casey with the division.
“Agents performed an investigation on Yoder regarding the illegal distribution of narcotics,” Casey said. “During the investigation, our agents were able to purchase powder cocaine from Yoder and warrants for her arrest were obtained.”
Casey said additional charges are expected to be filed in connection with the arrest of Yoder and evidence from the investigation.
“We are also anticipating more charges against one of Yoder’s associates who was present at the time of the sale,” Casey said.
Yoder was taken into custody at the time of the arrest and transported to the Escambia County Detention Center where was booked on the charges against her.
Yoder remains in the Escambia County Detention Center under at $100,000 bond.
