Brewton native Donnie Stallworth was found guilty of murder Thursday in his third trial on charges that he was involved in the shooting deaths of a Pensacola-area couple.

Stallworth, a 1999 graduate of T.R. Miller High School, and a former staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, was charged in the July 2009 shooting deaths of Byrd and Melanie Billings, a Florida couple known for their adoption of special needs children.

According to reports, Stallworth was sentenced to life in prison.

His first two trials last spring ended in hung juries. The so-called mastermind of the crimes was found guilty and sentenced to the death penalty in February.
