TRM volleyball improves to 4-0; JV now 2-0

In their fourth game Tuesday at home against Monroe County, the T.R. Miller Lady Tiger volleyball team picked up their fourth win.
The Lady Tigers improved to 4-0 with a 3-0 win over Monroe County.
T.R. Miller won game one 25-15, game two 25-13, and game three 25-17.
“We are glad to get the win,” T.R. Miller Lady Tiger head coach Greg White said. “We still have some work to do to get where I think we can be but we are getting after it and playing real hard and that makes up for some of the mistakes that we are making. Everyday is a new opportunity to get better as a team and if we can continue to improve each day we do some good things this season.”
In JV action Tuesday, the Lady Tigers defeated Monroe County 2-0 to improve their overall record to 2-0.
T.R. Miller won game one 25-11 and game two 25-16.
In game one, Hannah Weaver had eight service points and Abbi Roberts had six and three kills.
In game two, Krystal Bell led with eight service points while Madalyn Weaver added six in the win.
T.R. Miller’s varsity and JV teams will be back in action Thursday at home against Flomaton. Game times are at 5 and 6 p.m. At 4 p.m., the middle school team will start things off in their first game of the season.

TRM 3, Monroe County 0
In game one Tuesday, T.R. Miller had leads of 4-1, 17-3, and 21-9 en route to getting a 25-15 win.
Taylor Guthrie had 11 straight service points for T.R. Miller in the win.
In game two, T.R. Miller led 8-3, 12-7, and 18-12 to help aid in their win. Miranda McNamara had six straight service points to get the win.
In a close game three, T.R. Miller’s biggest lead was 21-15 until outscoring Monroe 4-2 to end the game.
Overall for T.R. Miller in the 3-0 win, Guthrie had 22 service points, eight kills, three blocks and six digs. Leah Brundidge had six service points, seven kills and eight digs in the win while Haley Brown had eight service points and 10 assists.
Amber Nelson had nine kills and four blocks while McNamara had 12 service points and three kills.
