Mrs. Carolyn Ann Cherry Brown, 65, died Sept. 10, 2011, after an extended illness. She was a native of Ashford and graduated from Ashford High School in 1964. She was a 1968 graduate of Troy University and worked in public schools for 34 years, nearly all as guidance counselor at W.S. Neal Middle School. She ‘retired’ to Reeltown High School where she continued to work for the final four years of her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Dadeville and she was preceded in death by her brother, Allen Cherry and her mother, Merline Cherry.
She is survived by her hustand, Wendell Brown; sons, Stephen and Josh Brown; grandsons, Lawson, Connor, Banks; a granddaughter, Carolyn Carter; her father, Clinton Cherry; a brother, Billy Cherry; a sister Ellen Nichols; and many other friends and family members.
Funeral services will held held Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Dadeville, with the Rev. Gary Wiggins officiating. Burial followed at Dadeville Cemetery with Langley Funeral Home directing.
