Ms. Millie Ruth Williams, 91, died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011. She was a native of Brewton and an active member of Second Saint Siloam Missionary Baptist Church. She taught school for 35 years and she was preceded in death by her mother, Lillie Williams; a brother, John Edward Williams; her sisters, Sylvia Jordan and Georgia Harkness; and a niece, Wilheimina Andrews.

She is survived by a daughter, Leota Martin; three granddaughters, Phyllis (Adrian) Kelly, Pamela Martin and Paula Martin; a great-grandson, Ryan Martin Kelly; a grand-nephew, Keith Andrews; her godchildren, Gussie McQueen, Ella (Andre) Asberry, Thomas (Judy) Burns, Brenda Burns and Cheryl Burns; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 19, at 11 a.m. at Second Saint Siloam Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie J. Blue officiating. Burial followed at Baptist Hill Cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
