TRM volleyball gets area split

The T.R. Miller Lady Tiger volleyball earned an area tri-match split Monday on the road in Daphne against No. 1 Bayside Academy and Washington County.
The Lady Tigers lost to Bayside Academy 3-0 before defeating Washington County 3-0 to get the split.
T.R. Miller improved to 12-3 with the split and will take on Clarke County and Washington County Tuesday, Sept. 27, in Grove Hill.
The Lady Tigers will play Clarke County at 4 p.m. and Washington County at 5 p.m.
T.R. Miller will return home Thursday, Sept. 29, against W.S. Neal. Game time is set to begin at 4 p.m. with the middle schools followed by the JV at 5 p.m. and the high school teams playing at 6 p.m.

Bayside Academy 3, T.R. Miller 0
Against No. 1 Bayside Academy Monday, T.R. Miller lost 25-8 in game one, 25-10 in game two and 25-10 in game three.
Leah Brundidge had eight kills, one block and seven digs in the loss.

TRM 3, Washington County 0
Against Washington County, T.R. Miller won 25-15 in game one, 25-22 in game two and 25-11 in game three.
In game one, Brundidge had four service points, four kills and two blocks while Taylor Guthrie added seven service points, and four kills. Lauren Ward had five service points in the win.
In game two, Brundidge added 10 service points and four kills while Miranda McNamara added five service points.
In game three, Brundidge added eight service points while McNamara had seven. Amber Nelson had five points in the win.
“We were fortunate to leave there with one win tonight,” T.R. Miller Lady Tiger head coach Greg White said. “We didn’t play very well tonight in either game. If we have any hopes of playing in the post season we have to get some things fixed. We didn’t play like T.R. Miller tonight and that bothers me. We have to get back to work and get some things corrected. I think that this team has enough Miller pride in them that they will get it corrected.”
