Interviews narrow JDCC choices

A day full of interviews were conducted by the 11-member search committee in their efforts to select the final candidates for the office president at Jefferson Davis Community College.
Led by committee chairman Dr. Gary Branch, president of Faulkner Community College in Bay Minette, the group interviewed each of the five finalists for 45 minutes asking each applicant the same questions.
The five finalists were interviewed in alphabetical order beginning with Dr. Robert Anderson of Arizona, Dr. Daniel Bane of Arkansas, Dr. Barbara Bebee of Maryland, Dr. Angeline Godwin of Mississippi and Dr. Richard Underbakke of Illinois.
Following interviews Thursday afternoon, the committee began deliberations to narrow the field to three for further interviews.
Dr. Freida Hill, chancellor of Postsecondary Education, will interview the final three candidates in Montgomery Friday. Hill will then present her final choice for the position to the State Board of Education at their meeting later this month. If the recommendation is approved, a new president for Jefferson Davis Community College within the next two weeks.
