Mrs. Laurene Crutchfield Tatum, 62, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011 at a Monroe County hospital. She was a native of Conecuh County, and a resident of Georgia,  but had resided in Excel for the past 21 years. She owned and operated Laurene’s Beauty Shop and she was a member of the Excel Methodist Church, She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie M. Tatum; a son, Rodney Tatum; her father, Brooks Crutchfield Sr.; three brothers, Ray Crutchfield, Wayne Crutchfield and Mitchel Crutchfielld; and her sister, Cathy Pettis.
She is survived by her mother, Madie Crutchfield of East Brewton; her sisters, Mattie Turner of Excel, and Bobbie Snider of Brewton; her mother-in-law, Louise Tatum of Excel; and sisters-in-law, Bonnie Wright, Sharon Bell and Shelby Bartlett, all of Excel.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 22 from 12 to 2 p,n, at Monroe Chapel in Monroeville.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, at 2 p.m. at Monroe Chapel with the Rev. Kathy McKinley and the Rev. Benny Snider officiating. Burial will follow at Harwood Cemetery with Monroe Chapel Ind. directing.
