WSNMS boys improve to 4-2 while girls drop to 2-4

Direct opposites: That is what the W.S. Neal Middle School Lady Eagle and Eagle teams are facing right now.
After the Lady Eagles started the season 2-0, they are currently on a four-game losing streak to fall to 2-4 while the Eagle boys started 0-2 and are currently on a four-game win streak to see their record go to 4-2.
That is the case after the last two games for the teams as the Lady Eagles lost to Flomaton 38-19 and to McCall Thursday 20-8 while the boys defeated Flomaton 60-24 and then defeated McCall 33-18.
W.S. Neal will be back in action Tuesday, Nov. 29, at home when they take on Brewton Middle School. Game time is set for 4 p.m. in East Brewton.
Flomaton 38, WSNMS girls 19
Against Flomaton, the Lady Eagles fell to 2-3 with a 38-19 loss.
Flomaton outscored W.S. Neal 9-5 in the first quarter and 14-6 in the second to take a 23-11 lead at the half. In the third quarter, W.S. Neal was outscored 6-2 to fall behind 29-13 and was outscored 9-6 in the fourth to lose by 19 points.
Alyssa English led with eight points in the loss while Dee Dee Lawson had six. Ke Ke Floyd chipped in three points and Haleigh Dubose added two.
WSNMS boys 60, Flomaton 24
Against Flomaton, the W.S. Neal Middle School boys defeated Flomaton by 36 points, 60-24.
W.S. Neal led 21-13 after the first quarter and 36-19 at the half. In the third quarter, the Eagles held Flomaton scoreless while scoring 13 points to take a 49-19 lead into the final quarter. In the fourth, W.S. Neal edged out Flomaton 11-5 to get the win.
Malcolm Hawthorne and Tyshawn Davis had 14 points each while Treylon Watson had 10. Tyrese Anderson had seven and Lane Chavers chipped in four points. Dalton Shell had three points in the win while Dakota Graves, Sam Frazier, Quinton Samuel and J.T. Lane had two each.
McCall 20, WSNMS Lady Eagles 8
Against McCall Thursday night, the Lady Eagles lost their fourth straight game as they fell to McCall 20-8.
McCall led W.S. Neal 6-2 after the first quarter and increased their lead to 10-4 at the half following a 4-2 advantage in the second quarter. In the third, McCall held a 3-2 advantage before outscoring the Lady Eagles 7-2 to get the 12-point win.
Floyd led with four points followed by two from Dubose and Tiffany Robinson.
WSNMS boys 33, McCall 18
The Eagle boys picked up their fourth straight win defeating McCall 33-18.
W.S. Neal led McCall 14-4 after the first quarter and 29-10 at the half following a 15-6 advantage in the second quarter.
In the third, McCall held a 4-2 advantage to cut the lead to 31-14 and held a 4-2 advantage in the fourth as W.S. Neal earned the win by 15 points.
Hawthorne and Shell led with six points followed by five from TyShawn Davis, three from Frazier and Watson and two each from Graves, Chavers, Walker, Anderson and Lane.
