BMS basketball defeats Repton Thursday

Both Brewton Middle School basketball teams picked up road wins Thursday at Repton to improve their records.
The Lady Tigers of BMS defeated Repton 30-21 to improve to 5-3 while the BMS boys defeated Repton 41-30 to improve to 4-4 this season.
The two teams will end their season Monday night at home against McCall. Game time is set for 5 p.m.

BMS Lady Tigers 30, Repton 21
Eight Lady Tigers scored Thursday night in a 30-21 win over Repton.
In the game Thursday, Brewton’s Lady Tigers led 6-2 after the first quarter and outscored Repton 12-4 in the second quarter to hold an 18-6 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, Brewton outscored Repton 10-4 to increase their lead to 28-10 before being outscored 11-2 in the fourth quarter to win by nine points.
Mekia Williams led Brewton with eight points and Tempest Thompson followed with six points. Shayn Bradley and Serena Smith both added four points each while Emonea Curry, Anilah Brazille, Victoria Tucker and Destiny Washington all had two points.

BMS Tigers 41, Repton 30
Markail Mitchell had 16 points for Brewton and Chardian Johnson added 13 as Brewton’s Tigers defeated Repton 41-30.
Brewton led Repton 10-5 after one quarter of play and 20-17 at the half after Repton’s 12-10 advantage in the second quarter.
In the third quarter, Brewton outscored Repton 9-4 to claim a 29-21 lead and finished the game on a 12-9 run to get the win by 11 points.
Ahmad Taylor added seven points in the win and Tamerick Jenkins had three points. Carlos Thomas chipped in two points for Brewton.
