Wrapping will help Jernigan Foundation

Volunteers will be “Wrapping for a Cause” over the next two Saturdays at Thou Art.
For a donation to the Yancey Jernigan Foundation, volunteers will wrap Christmas gifts behind the new gallery and gift shop on Douglas Avenue in Brewton.
The project will continue on Saturday, Dec. 10, and Saturday, Dec. 17 from 10 a.m. to noon on both days.
The Yancey Jernigan Foundation was formed last summer to honor the memory of a Brewton resident who fought cancer.
The foundation will help support Escambia County cancer patients who need financial assistance with medical or pharmacy bills.
The foundation will hold its grand opening on Thursday at Thou Art, which is owned by Emmie Jernigan, Yancey’s wife.
Anyone interested in volunteering on any of the three Saturdays or donating supplies such as ribbon, tape or wrapping paper can call Kelly Webb at 363-0408 or 867-2379.
Webb said she was glad to help pitch in to raise money for the foundation — and she picked this fundraiser because it is one of her favorite activities.
“I just like to wrap,” she said.
