WSNMS basketball ends season with wins over McCall

The W.S. Neal Middle School basketball teams ended their seasons with wins Thursday against McCall, using tough defenses to key the wins.
The Lady Eagles defeated McCall 34-17 to finish their season with a 4-6 record while the Eagle boys routed the Wolves 30-7 to finish their season 7-3.

WSNMS Lady Eagles 34, McCall 17
Runs of 11-0, 9-0 and 10-0 along with tough defense keyed a 17-point win for the W.S. Neal Middle School Lady Eagles in their season finale Thursday over McCall as they ended the season with a 34-17 win.
After scoring first in the game and seeing McCall tie the game at 2-2, W.S. Neal ended the quarter on a 7-0 run to lead 9-2 after the first quarter.
The Lady Eagles continued on their run in the second quarter and increased it to an 11-0 run while outscoring McCall 10-2 to hold a 19-4 lead at the half.
McCall would use a 6-0 run in the third quarter to cut into the Lady Eagle lead by two points as they outscored W.S. Neal 7-5 in the quarter to trail 24-11 heading into the fourth.
In the fourth, the Lady Eagles started the quarter on a 10-0 run to get the win.
KeKe Floyd led the Lady Eagles with 13 points and Alyssa English added six. Haleigh Dubose chipped in five and Alexis Morrison and Dee Dee Lawson had four each. Tiffany Robinson added two points.
W.S. Neal shot 2-for-9 from the free throw line in the win while McCall was 5-for-21.

WSNMS Eagles 30, McCall 7
The W.S. Neal Middle School Eagle basketball jumped out to an early lead against McCall scoring early and often along with tough defense to aid them in a 30-7 win.
The Eagles started the game on a 15-0 run before McCall got their first points of the game at the 2:34 mark of the second quarter.
The Eagles would later use a 10-0 run in the fourth to help get the win by 23 points.
W.S. Neal led 10-0 after the first quarter and 17-2 at the half. Following a 4-3 advantage in favor of McCall in the third quarter, the Eagles took a 20-6 lead into the fourth quarter.
The Eagles started the fourth quarter on a 10-0 run to hold a 30-6 lead with 1:34 left in the game before McCall added a later free throw.
W.S. Neal shot 4-for-6 from the free throw line while McCall was 1-for-10.
Dalton Shell and Malcolm Hawthorne led the Eagles with nine points each. Traylon Watson added six points and Tyrese Anderson had three. TyShawn Davis had two points and Lane Chavers had one.
