Officials in Fairhope and across south Alabama are calling for residents to line the streets of the city today as a parade welcomes home the soldiers with the 1165th National Guard unit.

The parade, set to begin at 10 a.m., will wind through the streets of Fairhope in celebration of the troops return from Afghanistan.

The parade will travel along Veterans Drive and Section Street to Fairhope Avenue and on to Church Street to the Fairhope Civic Center for a welcome home ceremony.
