Georgia-Pacific CEO and President Jim Hannan was recognized by the National Safety Council as one of nine business leaders Who “Get It.”
Following the announcment of the recognition, Hannan issued a special thank you to employees for their continued commitment to safety.
“It’s an honor to receive such an award from the National Safety Council recognizing our safety efforts,” Hannan said. “This award is about GP employees and the choices you make every day to make safety a shared value at GP. I am proud to be a part of this organization.”
Each year, the National Safety Council recognizes a few CEOs who demonstrate world-class safety. Jim’s profile is featured in the February 2012 issue of Safety+Health magazine.
“The Council is proud to recognize these world-class leaders like Jim who exemplify the ideals of the Journey,” said Janet Froetscher, National Safety Council president and CEO. “Their inspiring stories of safety excellence will set an example for others to follow as they seek to improve their own safety programs.”
Janet Froetscher will travel to Atlanta in early March to present this award to Jim and GP employees at the company’s annual Health and Safety meeting.
