Governor Robert Bentley will take steps Tuesday to recognize the valuable service provided by members of Emergency Management Agency offices across the state as he prepares to make a special proclamation in Montgomery.

Bentley will recognize the service of Alabama’s emergency management leaders, meteorologists, and others who prepare and guide the state through severe weather events during a special ceremony beginning at 10 a.m. at Alabama’s State Capital building.

At that time, Bentley will also declare the week of February 19-24 as Severe Weather Awareness Week in Alabama.

Leaders from the Alabama Emergency Management Agency, the National Weather Service, and broadcast meteorologists will be among those joining Governor Bentley for the proclamation.
