The W.S. Neal High School varsity Lady Eagle softball team dropped their second game of the season to Atmore Thursday on the road to start the season 0-2. W.S. Neal lost at home to Atmore Tuesday 5-4.
W.S. Neal got down 2-0 in the first and battled back to take a 6-2 lead in the fifth inning. From there, Atmore tied it up in the bottom of the fifth when their bats got hot and got a homerun in the bottom of the sixth inning that gave them 9-6 lead over the Lady Eagles of East Brewton. W.S. “I’m proud of the way our team battled,” W.S. Neal Lady Eagle head coach Jeff Haney said. “They got down on multiple occasions and never gave up. It is a long season and we will come together and overcome this little stumble. I also want to give credit to Atmore for their effort in the game. They are much improved from last season.”
