WSNMS baseball defeats, ties Flomaton

In a doubleheader at Flomaton Tuesday, the W.S. Neal Middle School baseball team won game one and tied game two to improve their record to 1-1-1 this season.
W.S. Neal defeated Flomaton 3-0 in game one before settling for an 8-8 tie in game two.
In game one, the Eagles scored one run each in the first three innings while holding the Hurricanes scoreless to get the win by three.
Dakota Graves was 1-for-2 with two stolen bases in the win while TyShawn Davis was 1-for-2.
Nick Glass earned the win on the mound allowing no runs in five innings. Glass allowed two hits, one walk and struck out seven.
In game two, the Eagles rallied from an 8-4 deficit after three innings to score four in the fifth inning to tie the game at 8.
Glass was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Lane Chavers was 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Derrick Barton was 1-for-2 with one RBI and one stolen base while Davis was 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Sam Frazier was 1-for-1 with one RBI in the win.
Chavers earned the no decision on the mound allowing eight runs on six hits, walked four and struck out four. All four runs allowed were earned.
The Eagles are scheduled to play in their own W.S. Neal tournament Saturday in East Brewton. No other information about the tournament was known as of press time.
