JDCC baseball now 13-16 overall and 3-7 in conference play

After being swept in Monroeville in a conference doubleheader Tuesday against Alabama Southern, the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team swept Mineral Area College Wednesday at home.
JDCC defeated Mineral Area 7-2 in game one and 3-1 in game two to improve to 13-16 overall.
Tuesday in Monroeville, JDCC lost 9-3 and 3-1 to fall to 3-7 in conference play.
JDCC will be back in action at home Saturday at noon in a conference doubleheader.

Alabama Southern:
Against Alabama Southern, JDCC lost 9-3 and 3-1.
In game one, Michael Yarborough took the loss on the mound. Yarborough went six innings and allowed nine hits, three runs, two earned, walked none and struck out six.
At the plate, Nathan Edwards, Brandon Blackwelder, Trae Walsingham, Cody Brannen and Andrew Tindell all had hits.
Tindell was 2-for-3 in the loss.
In game two, Joey Hedden took the loss on the mound. Hedden went 4 1/3 innings allowing six hits, nine runs, four earned, walked four and struck out one.
Lane had a double in the loss. Edwards, Blackwelder and Tindell all had one RBI each.
Dillan Schaniel had two hits for JDCC.

Mineral Area:
In a non-conference game Wednesday against Mineral Area, JDCC earned a sweep.
In game one, John Williams earned the win on the mound going two innings and allowing three hits, one earned run, walked one and struck out none.
Edwards and Schaniel had a double each while Tindell had two.
Tindell had two RBIs in the win.
In game two, Tyler Moore earned the win on the mound. Moore went four innings and allowed four hits, one earned run, walked two and struck out none. Schaniel earned the save.
At the plate, Schaniel and Danny Sellers had a double each. Tindell had three RBIs and was 2-for-2 to lead the offense while Edwards was 2-for-2.
