TRM girls win first track event, boys place second

In their first track meet of the season Saturday at the Montgomery Academy Invite, the T.R. Miller Lady Tiger track team took first place while the boys team placed second.
The Lady Tigers scored 108.5 points to win the match over second place Stanhope Elmore who totaled 103 points. There were 20 total teams in the girls event.
In the boys, T.R. Miller scored 68.5 points to take second to Alabama Christian who took first with 77.5 points. There were 19 total teams in the boys event.

Lady Tigers:
In the girls events for T.R. Miller Saturday in Montgomery, Takeysia McFugerson placed 27th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 14.37. In the 200-meter dash for the Lady Tigers, LaTeysia Montgomery finished seventh with a time of 28.14.
Morgan Rowell placed 21st in the 400-meter dash for the Lady Tigers with a time of 1:11.93 while Amber Terry placed 22nd with a time of 1:12.16.
In the 800-meter run, Karisa Nelson placed third as she finished with a time of 2:24.08. In the 1600-meter run, Nelson placed second with a time of 5:27.31 and Allie Nelson placed sixth with a time of 6:03.78. Katie Nelson finished with a time of 6:35.30 for 13th place. In the 3200 race, Karisa, Allie and Katie placed second, third and fifth respectively. Karisa had a time of 13:15.34 followed by Allie Nelson with a time of 13:38.98. Katie Nelson’s time was 14:18.98.
In the 100-meter hurdles event for the Lady Tigers, Taylor Guthrie placed first with a time of 16.68. Amber Nelson placed third with a time of 17.33. In the 300-meter hurdles, Nelson placed fifth with a time of 53.70.
In the 4×100-meter relay for the Lady Tigers, T.R. Miller placed fourth with a time of 53.20.
In the 4×800-meter relay, T.R. Miller placed fourth again with a time of 11:34.11. In the high jump event, Montgomery led the Lady Tigers with a sixth place finish with a jump of 4-4. Amber Terry placed fifth in the pole vault with a vault of 7-feet.
In the long jump, Guthrie placed fourth with a jump of 16-1. Amber Nelson, Leah Brundidge and Montgomery also placed in the event. In the triple jump, Nelson placed first with a jump of 33-feet. Brundidge and Allie Nelson also placed in the triple jump event.
In the shot put, O’Nesha Hall led the Lady Tigers with a fifth place finish as she had a throw of 29 ½. Kelsey Thompson placed ninth in the event.
Lauren Bradley took fifth place for T.R. Miller in the discus with a throw of 78-feet while Morgan Rowell placed 10th. Leah Brundidge placed second in the javelin with a throw of 113-3.

Tigers:
In the 100-meter race, Jamal Spears led the Tigers with a time of 11.66 and 13th place while McHenry Coleman placed 17th. Dominique Jackson and Kameron Coleman also placed.
In the 200-meter race, Spears placed 17th with a time of 24.13. McHenry Coleman placed 26th while Allen Boyd finished 44th. Nick Adams led the Tigers in the 400-meter race with a time of 57.53 and a 14th place finish. Ladd Sawyer placed 17th and Alec Robinson placed 24th for T.R. Miller.
In the 800-meter run, Rob Stokes finished third with a time of 2:12.44 and he also took fourth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:52. Ryan Snowden placed 34th and Terrance Lee placed 42nd.
In the 3200-meter race, Lee placed 18th with a time of 13:50.03 while Snowden placed 21st.
In the 110-meter hurdles, Ivory Miller placed eighth and Allen Boyd took 10th. In the 300-meter hurdles, Miller placed fifth with a time of 45.23.
The Tigers 4×100 relay team placed fifth with a time of 45.50 and the 4×400 team took ninth.
In the high jump, Mark Bryant led T.R. Miller with a second place finish and a jump of 6-feet.
In the pole vault, Adams placed fourth with a vault of 9-6 while Miller Vickery placed seventh.
Bryant led the Tigers in the long jump as he claimed first place with a jump of 21-feet. Spears placed seventh in the event.
In the triple jump, Kameron Coleman and Ivory Miller placed seventh and eighth while Fabion Jones took 24th for T.R. Miller in the shot put with a shot of 32-3. Zach Whitworth placed 31st and Hunter Jernigan finished 33rd.
In the discus, Logan Ingram placed third with a throw of 116-10 and William Whittle placed 16th.
In the javelin, Adams took second with a throw of 134-9 while Whittle placed fifth.
