WSN softball remains winless in area play

The W.S. Neal High School varsity Lady Eagle softball team remained winless in area play Tuesday as they suffered an 8-1 loss to the Jackson Aggies.
With the loss, W.S. Neal fell to 7-8 overall and to 0-3 in area play. The game was the first for W.S. Neal since falling to Thomasville March 13.
In JV action Tuesday, W.S. Neal defeated Jackson 4-3.
Brittany Lucas pitched five innings and gave up three runs on four hits.
W.S. Neal was scheduled to play at home Thursday against Jay and will be back in action Tuesday at home against Central. Game time is set for 4 p.m.

Jackson 8, WSN 1
In an area game with Jackson Tuesday in East Brewton, W.S. Neal’s Lady Eagles were handed an 8-1 loss by the visiting Aggies.
W.S. Neal was held to only four hits in the loss, with the first hit not coming until the fourth inning. The Lady Eagles were held to one run in the fifth inning while Jackson pounded out 10 hits and scored four runs in the third inning one in the fifth and three more in the sixth to get the win by seven.
Kaitlin Hadaway picked up the first Lady Eagle hit in the fourth inning as she singled but reached third on an error.
Autumn Hinote, Kaeli Brown and Anna Nelson all singled in the fifth inning.
On the mound, Hadaway took the loss as she went the complete game allowing 10 hits, eight runs, three earned, walked two and struck out nine.
W.S. Neal committed five errors in the loss.
