Just months after being arrested on drug charges, a Brewton man is behind bars again after officers with the narcotics division of the Brewton Police Department took him into custody Wednesday.
Gentell Green, 25, was charged distribution of a controlled substance – crack cocaine; possession of crack cocaine; possession of synthetic marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; attempt to elude and second-degree attempting to commit assault.
“Our agents were conducting an investigation in suspected drug activity in the Alco Drive area,” said Sgt. Bryan Davis said. “During their investigation, the agents came in contact with Green as he was selling illegal narcotics behind a set of apartments on College Drive.”
Davis said when officers approached Green, he attempted to elude the scene in a vehicle.
“Green rammed an occupied vehicle with his care and then crashed into a wooded area behind the apartments,” Davis said. “Agents were then able to take him into custody and place him under arrest.”
Green had been wanted by Brewton Police following a drug sweep in November 2011 when 10 other arrests were made.
Green remained in jail Friday on a $100,000 bond.
