JDCC softball sweeps LBW to improve to 6-0 in conference

The Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk softball continued their recent dominance on the diamond lately as they swept a doubleheader at LBW Wednesday for their sixth straight win.
JDCC won game one 7-5 and game two 2-0 to improve to 18-24 overall but most importantly, they stayed undefeated in conference play as they improved to 6-0.
In game one, JDCC trailed LBW 5-2 after the third inning but rallied with five runs in the top of the sixth inning to get the win by two.
The Lady Warhawks pounded out 12 hits in the win and was lead by Amber Steadham’s 3-for-4 day at the plate and three RBIs.
Breana Still was 1-for-4 along with Morgan Agerton and Jennifer Fisher was 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Crysta Paulson was 1-for-4 along with Amber McMillan and Dymon Coachman while Carley Parker was 2-for-4. Coachman had one RBI in the win.
On the mound for JDCC, Mallori Armstrong and Elissa Kelly combined for the win. The duo went seven innings and allowed nine hits, five runs, three earned, walked five and struck out one.
In game two, JDCC shutout the Lady Saints and scored one run each in the fifth and sixth innings to get a 2-0 win and the sweep.
Jaime Sanders went the distance on the mound for JDCC and allowed four hits, no runs, walked and struck out three.
At the plate, Steadham, Still, Paulson and Coachman were all 1-for-3 while Fisher was 1-for-2 with one RBI.
