Taylor Austin threw a no-hitter Monday in T.R. Miller’s JV softball team’s 8-2 victory over W.S. Neal.
Austin threw a no-hitter, striking out seven batters and walking four while allowing two runs.
The top of the first saw W.S. Neal take an early lead by a score of 2-0. Those two runs would be the only runs for the Lady Eagles as T.R. Miller scored three runs in the first, four in the second and one in the fourth to get the win by six.
A two-run home run by Leslie Holmes and a two-run error during the second inning helped T.R. Miller put some runs on the board early.
Holmes racked up two RBIs on two hits for T.R. Miller as she went 2-for-3 at the plate.
Austin and Krystal Bell were both 1-for-2 while Hannah Weaver was 1-for-3 with one RBI. Madalyn Weaver also had one RBI in the win.
No stats were known for W.S. Neal in the loss.
T.R. Miller improved to 9-5 with the win while W.S. Neal fell to 4-5.
