WSN softball continues winning streak

The W.S. Neal Lady Eagle softball team kept their winning streak going Tuesday and improved it to six straight wins as they defeated Monroe County in an area game.
The Lady Eagles defeated Monroe County 10-0 in five innings to improve to 13-9 overall and to 1-3 in area play.
While the Lady Eagles kept their hot streak on the field, W.S. Neal pitcher Kaitlin Hadaway continued to be hot in the pitchers circles as she recorded 14 strikeouts in five innings of work, walked none, allowed one hit and no runs.
After a scoreless first inning, W.S Neal scored one run in the second inning, two in the fourth and seven in the fifth to get the win by the mercy rule.
KeKe Floyd was 1-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and one run scored and Autumn Hinote was 3-for-3 with two doubles, one RBI and three runs scored.
Kaeli Brown was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and one run score and Anna Nelson was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and one run scored.
Paige Grantham scored one run in the win for W.S. Neal while Lauren Boatwright scored two runs and one RBI and Jade Danley scored one run.
In the middle school game prior to the varsity game, W.S. Neal won 10-1. W.S. Neal ended their season with a 6-5 record.
