JDCC baseball swept by LBW

In a conference doubleheader Saturday at LBW in Andalusia, the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team was swept to 12-1 and 5-0.
With the sweep, JDCC fell to 20-25 overall and to 8-16 in conference play.
In game one, JDC was held to one run in the third inning while LBW scored in every inning but the first and fifth.
LBW led 3-0 after the second inning and 6-1 after three innings before scoring four in the fourth and two in the sixth.
Nathan Edwards was 1-for-3 at the plate and Jordan Creel was 1-for-2 with the lone RBI. Dustin Bickmeyer was 2-for-3 along with Andrew Tindell.
Michael Yarborough took the loss on the mound going three innings and allowing seven hits, six earned runs, walked one and struck out three. Jeremy Barnes went three innings and allowed eight hits, six runs, five earned, walked none and struck out two.
In game two, JDCC was shutout 5-0 while LBW scored one run in the first, three in the third and one in the fifth.
LBW pounded out 15 hits while holding JDCC to only four.
Brandon Blackwelder and Kyle Freeman were both 1-for-3 while Danny Sellers was 1-for-1 and Corey Lane was 1-for-2.
Joey Hedden took the loss going five innings and allowing nine hits, five earned runs, walked and struck out none. Tyler Howell went one inning.
JDCC will be back in action in a conference game Friday at home when they take on Alabama Southern in a nine-inning game at 1 p.m. in Brewton. Saturday, the two teams will meet in a double header at 1 p.m. in Brewton.
