TRM tennis falls at sectionals

Both the T.R. Miller boys and girls tennis teams competed a sectionals Monday and Tuesday in Dothan and saw their seasons come to an end.
The boys team racked up 11 points for a fourth place finish while the girls scored 17 for third place.
For the boys, T.R. Miller’s No. 1 seed William Jones won his first round match over Opp 10-8 before falling to Houston Academy 10-1.
No. 2 seed Malik Leach won in the first round over Opp 10-1 before falling to Houston Academy in round two 10-1.
T.R. Miller’s No. 3 seed Marc Edge lost his first round match to Saint Luke 10-4 while No. 4 seed Patrick Weaver also lost in the first round to Saint Luke by a score of 10-7.
Austin Morris, No. 5 seed, defeated Opp in round one 10-0 before falling to Bayside 10-3 in round two. No. 6 seed Christian Carlson won in round one 10-1 over Providence but lost to Bayside Academy in round two 10-3.
In doubles, Jones and Leach lost in round one to Saint Luke 10-7 while No. 2 doubles Weaver and Edge defeated Opp in round one 10-3 before losing to Bayside Academy 10-1.
The No. 3 doubles duo of Jennings Fussell and Neill Morris lost in round one to Saint Luke 10-4.
For the Lady Tigers, No. 1 seed Abbie Carlson lost her round one match to Providence 10-0 while No. 2 seed Elizabeth Althauser won in round one over Opp 11-0 but lost to Houston Academy in round two.
In No. 3 singles, Allie Adams lost to Providence 10-4 in round one.
In No. 4 singles, Morgan Manning won round one over Opp 10-0 and took round two over Houston Academy 10-6. Manning lost in the finals to Bayside 6-1 and 6-1.
In No. 5 singles, Sara Allan lost to Opp in round one 10-3..
Katie Baggett, No. 6 singles, won her first round match with Saint Lukes 10-1 before losing in round two to Bayside 10-1.
In doubles play, the Carlson and Althauser duo won in round one 10-0 over Saint Lukes but lost in round two to Bayside 10-1.
In No. 2 doubles, Adams and Manning won in the first round over Saint Luke 10-1 but fell to Houston Academy in round two 10-3.
The No. 3 doubles duo of Molly McConoughy and Amelia Peach won round one over Opp 10-4, but lost round two to Houston Academy 10-0.
