Brewton 8U all-stars eliminated by Andalusia

Needing a win Tuesday night in the 8U all-star tournament in Evergreen to advance to the championship game, the Brewton all-stars fell to Andalusia 13-11 to see their season end. Brewton went 2-2 overall in the tournament.
Brewton struck first in the game as they took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning after David Peace scored, but Andalusia took the lead in the bottom of the inning as they scored three runs off two Brewton errors to lead 3-1 heading into the second inning.
Following a scoreless second inning for both teams, Brewton took a short 5-3 lead after plating four runs in the top of the third. The lead was short-lived for Brewton as Andalusia once again rallied, this time scoring three runs of their own to take a 6-5 lead after three innings.
In the fourth, Brewton would plate two runs to grab a 7-6 lead, but fell behind 11-7 after Andalusia stormed back with five runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Brewton would be held scoreless in the fifth inning as Andalusia grabbed two insurance runs to extend their lead to 13-7.
Brewton would muster up a late rally as they scored four runs in the sixth inning to cut the lead to 13-11, but that would be as close as they would get as they took the loss by two runs.
Brewton made a total of 11 errors in the loss including four in the fifth inning.
At the plate for Brewton, Peace scored two runs and Bracken Pettis scored three. Ed Dolihite scored one run and had two RBIs while Trent Cooper added two RBIs and scored two runs.
Kobe Curry had two RBIs in the loss and scored two runs while Kannan Carter added one RBI and Brown Thomas scored one run.
