One more joins city races
With just two more days left next week for municipal candidates to qualify for election, one more person tossed his hat in the ring for a city seat on Friday.
Michael Cosey will seek the Place 4 seat on the East Brewton City Council. East Brewton residents vote for all of their council seats, because the members are elected at-large.
Tuesday at 5 p.m. is the deadline for candidates to qualify for the Aug. 28 municipal elections in Brewton and East Brewton.
So far, three candidates are seeking the mayor’s spot in Brewton: Yank Lovelace, Frank Nalty and David Jennings. Incumbent Terry Clark and Louis Hinote are seeking the mayor’s spot in East Brewton.
