An Escambia Academy student was killed Monday evening after his vehicle collided with an 18-wheeler.

Noah Allison, who transferred to Escambia Academy near Atmore from Charles Henderson High School in Troy alongside new Athletic Director and head football coach Hugh Fountain, was a promising student-athlete who lost his life only weeks before his first classes, and football games, were scheduled to begin in Canoe.

EA Headmaster Betty Warren said she did not yet have any further details on the accident, but added Allison suffered from a sleep disorder that required medication, which could possibly have a played a role in the accident.

As of Monday evening Fountain had not been reached for comment. Warren said she believed he was preparing for an emergency trip back to Troy following Allison’s death.
