Wallace State 3, JDCC 0
The JDCC Lady Warhawks fell to 0-2 overall and to 0-1 in conference play in their home opener Thursday when they dropped a 3-0 loss to Wallace State-Hanceville.
JDCC lost 25-10, 25-11 and 25-21.
“We knew going into today that the game was going to be tough and we would have to not create as many mistakes as we did on Tuesday,” Nims said. “The first two matches we made a lot of errors that gave Wallace points. They had the momentum both games and we could not recover. The third match was a different story. We played at our potential and came out fighting. Tara Gafford, Kayla White and Amber Huskey had a great game. We were able to get ahead of Wallace for a short time but ended up falling to a team that knows how to close a game. Overall, we showed heart and determination . I am very excited to continue to grow as a team.”
Huskey led the team with seven kills while White led with 17 total attacks. Arissa Bray and Victoria Bracewell led the Lady Warhawks with one service ace each. Amber McMillan finished with 10 digs while Youngblood and Gafford had one block each. White had two block assists.
JDCC will be back in action Tuesday when they travel to take on Gulf Coast. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
JDCC will be back home Friday, Sept. 14 when they take on Sneads at 6 p.m.
