TRM JV and varsity fall at PH while BMS wins

The Brewton Middle School Lady Tiger volleyball team was the lone Tiger team to pull out a win Tuesday against Pleasant Home as they rallied improve to 3-0 this season with a 2-1 win.
BMS lost set one 25-20 but rallied in set two to win 25-9 and tie the match up. In the third and deciding set, Brewton won 15-12 to get the win.
In set one, Steely Ruzic led with seven service points while Payton Baxter led with nine points in the second set. Myra Reiss chipped in eight points and Bethany McDonald added three kills.
In the third set, Anna Kate Brittain had seven points while Cortney Lisenby had two kills.
PH 2, TRM JV 0
In JV action Tuesday, T.R. Miller’s JV team lost 2-0 to Pleasant Home to drop their record to 2-3 this season.
T.R. Miller lost set one 25-11 and set two 25-10.
No other stats were known as of press time from the game.
PH 3, TRM varsity 0
In varsity action, T.R. Miller dropped their second straight game to see their record fall to 2-3 this season.
In set one, T.R. Miller lost 25-23 and followed that up with a 25-19 loss in set two. In set three, the Lady Tigers lost 25-16.
Lauren Ward had six service points in set one while Jessica Allan led with eight.
Abbi Roberts led T.R. Miller in set two with eight service points and four kills. In set three, Karisa Nelson led with four service points, four kills and three blocks.
“I’m extremely disappointed in the overall team performance,” T.R. Miller Lady Tiger head coach Greg White said. “That’s not what we are about. That’s not T.R. Miller. We need to have more pride in ourselves if we are going to put that T.R. Miller uniform on and play a game.”
T.R. Miller will be back in action Thursday at home in their annual “pink game.” Game time is set for 4 p.m. with the middle school teams playing each other followed by the JV at 5 p.m. and the varsity at 6 p.m.
