JDCC volleyball gets three wins

The Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk volleyball team picked up their first of the season Friday and more on Saturday to improve their record to 3-5 this season.
JDCC defeated Sneads 3-2 Friday at home to improve to 1-3 this season and to 1-1 in conference play.
On Saturday at the Lawson State tournament, JDCC went 2-2. JDCC opened the tournament with a 2-0 win over Concordia.
In their second game of the tournament, JDCC lost to Lawson State 2-1 before falling to Faulkner State 3-1 in their third game of the tournament. In their final game, JDCC defeated Wallace State-Selma 2-0 to end on a winning note.
JDCC was scheduled to travel to Bay Minette Tuesday to take on Faulkner State,
JDCC will play the University of Mobile-JV team Thursday before returning home Tuesday, Sept. 25 to take on Pensacola State College.

JDCC 3, Snead State 2
In their home game Friday, JDCC defeated Snead State 3-2.
JDCC won 25-22 in the first set before dropping sets two and three 25-22. In set four, JDCC rallied for a 25-12 win to tie the match at 2-all before claiming a 15-8 win in the fifth and final set.
Ki Ki Youngblood and Jennifer Daniels each led with 10 kills while Daniels had 30 total attacks.
Kayla White led with five service aces and Sarah Litteken led with 17 digs. White, Amber Huskey, Nyia Underwood, Victoria Bracewell and Tara Gafford all had two solo blocks each.

JDCC 2, Concordia 0
JDCC made in two straight wins as they opened the Lawson tournament with a 2-0 win over Concordia.
JDCC won 25-22 and 25-7.
Daniels and Gafford led with six kills each while Huskey had 15 total attacks. White had two service aces and Litteken had nine digs. White, Huskey and Youngblood led with one block each.

Lawson 2, JDCC 1
Against host Lawson, JDCC lost 2-1. JDCC took set one 25-21 before falling 25-21 and 15-9.
Youngblood led with nine kills, Daniels had 17 total attacks and Amber McMillan and Bracewell finished with one service ace each. Litteken had 11 digs and Huskey had four solo blocks.

Faulkner State 3, JDCC 1
In their third game of the tournament, JDCC lost to Faulkner State 3-1.
JDCC again took set one 25-19 but fell in set two 25-18, in set three 25-22 and set four 25-9.
Youngblood led with seven kills and 24 total attacks. Daniels led with four service aces and Litteken led with 14 digs. Huskey and Gafford led with two blocks each.

JDCC 2, Wallace State-Selma 0
Against WSS, JDCC won 2-0 as they took set one 25-21 and set two 26-24.
Daniels led with six kills and 18 total attacks. Daniels also led with two service aces. Litteken led with 11 digs while Youngblood and Gafford led with two solo blocks.
