W.S. Neal homecoming set for today

W.S. Neal homecoming queen Raven Beasley and her court will be waving through the parade Friday afternoon, along with reunion classes returning for this year’s festivities.

The parade will roll through East Brewton at 1 p.m., with floats in place no later than 12:30 p.m.

The parade route will follow Andrew Jackson Street to U.S. 29 and on to Forrest Avenue. The parade will continue along Forrest Avenue to Magnolia Super Foods where it will turn onto Snowden Street for disbanding.

An alumni reception will be held beginning at 9 a.m. in the main building of the school with an alumni pep rally presented at 10:30 a.m. in the O.C. Weaver Auditorium. During the pep rally, members of the homecoming court will be presented.

In addition to queen Beasley, representing the freshman class as attendent is KeKe Floyd. Cassi Lanier is repsenting the sophomore class with Kassie Lundy representing the junior.

In order to allow students an opportunity to attend the homecoming parade, school will be dismissed beginning at 11:40 a.m. for elementary students; 11:45 a.m. for middle school students; and noon for high school students.

The W.S. Neal Eagles will take on the Opp Bobcats in the homecoming football game with kick off set at 7 p.m.

Pre-game activities, including the crowning of the queen and presentation of the homecoming court, will begin at 6:25 p.m.

Gates to the stadium open at 5:30 p.m. with tickets available at the school office prior to game day.
