WSNMS basketball sweeps Flomaton

The W.S. Neal Middle School boys basketball team remained undefeated and the Lady Eagles picked up their first win of the season Thursday night at Flomaton.
The Lady Eagles improved to 1-2 with a 27-24 win while the Eagles improved to 3-0 with a 27-21 win.
W.S. Neal will play at McCall Thursday at 1 p.m.

WSNMS girls 27, Flomaton 24
Trailing by one after three quarters of play—19-18—the Lady Eagles outscored Flomaton 9-5 in the fourth quarter to come away with a three-point win, 27-24.
W.S. Neal and Flomaton were tied at six after one quarter of play before Flomaton held a 9-4 advantage in the second quarter to take a 15-10 lead at the half. In the third, W.S. Neal outscored Flomaton 8-4 to cut the lead to one before pulling away in the fourth to get their first win this season.
Kamteria Lawson led with 10 points in the win followed by four points from Marisha Fraser.
Tia Lawson finished with four points while Imani Jackson, Maniya Smith, Ri’Ante Askew and Kayla Johnson all had two points. Janiya McCants finished with one point.

WSNMS boys 27, Flomaton 21
In boys action Thursday night, the W.S. Neal boys defeated Flomaton 27-21 to remain perfect.
W.S. Neal led 7-3 after one quarter and 15-10 at the half. In the third quarter, W.S. Neal edged Flomaton 9-7 to take a 24-17 lead. In the fourth, Flomaton outscored W.S. Neal 4-3, but the Eagles took the win by six.
Kenny Walker led with nine points and was followed by J.T. Lane’s eight. Jacolby Hawthorne finished with four points while Tyrese Anderson and Keith Barksdale both had three points.
