JDCC basketball now 0-3

The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team remained winless as they fell to 0-3 Saturday in their home opener.
The Warhawks lost to William Carey 77-59. JDCC was outscored by William Carey 40-32 in the first half and 37-27 in the second half to take the loss by 18 points.
Kenny Nabors led JDCC with 13 points and Adrian Rich added eight along with Fletcher Forte.
Devonte Pope had seven points while Dee Jay Braggs had six and R.J. Bowers and Anthony Bell had five.
Matt Bass had four points and Chris Oden had three.
Oden led with nine rebounds, all on defense, and Bowers and Oden both had five assists.
Braggs, Nabors, Oden and Rich all had one block each while Oden had two steals.
The Warhawks were 20-for-61 from the field for 32.8 percent and shot 7-for-25 from the 3-point area for 28 percent. JDCC was 12-for-25 from the free throw line for 48 percent.
William Carey shot 37.7 percent from the field and had only 13 turnovers while JDCC committed 23.
JDCC was set to play Pensacola Christian College Tuesday at home and will be back in action Saturday at home against Southern Union.
Game time for Saturday’s game is set for 2 p.m.
