Were the preseason title game teams right or wrong?

Well it is official: The Alabama Crimson Tide will take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in this year’s BCS National Championship game in Miami.
The Irish are currently 12-0 while Alabama finished 12-1 after Saturday’s classic in the SEC Championship game.
I was going through the cabinet drawers of my desk here Monday morning and came across something that forgot I had printed off back in August.
I came across expert predictions of who they predicted to play in the bowl games and national championship games.
Of the predictions I printed out, those came from Sports Illustrated and ESPN.com writers.
Of the 19 predictions, eight had LSU winning the national championship, six had USC predicted, three had Alabama and one had Oregon and another one had Oklahoma.
I just thought it was funny how of all the predictions cast, only three had one of the teams that will actually be playing in the title game.
No one even had Notre Dame picked to play in the title game. LSU finished as the No. 8-ranked team in the BCS while USC was not even ranked. Oregon finished as the No. 4-team and Oklahoma was No. 11.
There was no Florida—who finished No. 3 and no Kansas State who finished as the No. 5 team.
It is always fun to make and look at predictions, but as they say, I guess that is why they play the game on the field.
Speaking of making predictions…
What is your prediction for the title game this year? Will Alabama earn their 15th title and make it seven straight for the SEC or will Notre Dame finish off their magical year and end the SEC and Alabama’s run?
We only have (said with sarcasm) 35 days—five weeks from today—until they play the game on the field to find out if we will be right or wrong.
Until we meet again here or out in the world of sports, God bless.
