An undercover narcotics investigation by the Brewton Police Department resulted in the Friday arrest of a 34-year-old man on charges of drug distribution and possession.

Police identified the man as Shawn Eric Sims of Bradley Street. Officers said that investigators developed information that Sims was involved in the alleged sale of illegal drugs, and launched an undercover investigation. Agents were successful in purchasing marijuana from Sims leading to a search warrant that officers served on Friday at about 10:30 a.m.

Officers arrested Sims and transported him to the Escambia County Detention Center.
