Bayside Academy Admirals sink WSN basketball teams

Three days after facing off against Bayside Academy and being swept in East Brewton, the Admirals pulled another sweep of the W.S. Neal Eagle basketball teams Friday night in Daphne.
The B-team Eagles took a 56-27 defeat from the Admirals to fall to 2-5 overall.
In girls action Friday, the Lady Eagles lost 42-30 to remain winless this season and fall to 0-10 overall and to 0-5 in area play. W.S. Neal narrowly lost to Bayside at home as the Lady Admirals pulled away in the fourth quarter over the Eagles and claimed a 38-34 win.
The varsity Eagles suffered a 67-18 thrashing from Bayside to fall to 3-7 overall and to 1-4 in area play. W.S. Neal lost to Bayside 62-41 Tuesday in East Brewton.
No stats or information was known from the B-team game as of press time Tuesday.
All three W.S. Neal teams were scheduled to travel to Cottage Hill Tuesday for their final area game of the season.
W.S. Neal will return home Friday to take on Geneva. Game time is set for 5 p.m. in East Brewton. The Eagles will play their final home game of the 2012-2013 season Tuesday, Jan. 29, when they host Northview. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
W.S. Neal will end their season with two road games at Pleasant Hoe and Flomaton. W.S. Neal and Pleasant Home will meet on Friday, Feb. 1 while the Eagles will travel to Flomaton for a Monday, Feb. 4 game.
BA 42, WSN Lady Eagles 30
While it was another valiant effort from the W.S. Neal Lady Eagles Friday night against the Bayside Lady Admirals, W.S. Neal remained winless with a 12-point loss, 42-30.
Bayside jumped out to a 10-7 lead over W.S. Neal in the first quarter before outscoring the Lady Eagles 9-4 in the second quarter to hold a 19-11 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, W.S. Neal was edged out 12-8 by Bayside as the Lady Admirals increased their lead by four points heading into the final quarter of play.
Trailing 31-19 after three quarters of play, both teams poured in 11 points each in the final quarter as Bayside took the win.
KeKe Floyd led the Lady Eagles in the loss with 15 points. Floyd shot 5-for-6 from the free throw line in the loss.
BA 67, WSN varsity Eagles 18
The W.S. Neal varsity Eagles saw their offense sputter Friday night as Bayside cruised their way to a 49-point win, 67-18.
The Admirals jumped on the Eagles early and often Friday night as they scored 25 points in the first quarter while holding the Eagles to only four points to take an early 21-point lead after one quarter of play.
Bayside’s 25 points scored in the first quarter outscored the Eagles’ total points in the game by seven points.
In the second quarter, Bayside extended their lead by nine points as they held a 15-6 scoring advantage in the quarter to take a 40-10 lead at the halftime break.
The second half was not much better for the Eagles as they were outscored by Bayside 27-8.
W.S. Neal was held to only one point in the third quarter as the Admirals poured in 12 of their own to increase their lead to 52-11 heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, W.S. Neal was edged out 15-7 as Bayside claimed the 49-point win.
Josiah Nettles led the Eagles in the loss with nine points.
