Brewton city workers were busy putting up a barracade at Ann Street Tuesday as the waters of Burnt Corn Creek continued to rise.

Emergency officials say some minor flooding is possible as late as Thursday this week due to the heavy rainfall experienced across the region over a four-day period.

Officials were contacted late Tuesday to determine if other areas were effected by rising waters.

No other roads were closed and none were expected to be closed as a result of rising waters.

Forecasters say some additional rising of Burnt Corn Creek and Murder Creek are possible through early Thursday with Escambia and Conecuh rivers also seeing some additional rising in the levels there.

Light rains are expected through the morning on Wednesday with skies clearing through the day.
