With construction and rain delays, Habitat for Humanity of Escambia County leaders are ready to race to completion on the latest project for the organization.

With work days planned for this weekend, Habitat leaders are asking for volunteers with work to focus on final details that will make the Stewart home on Dacus Street complete

Painting will be done Friday and Saturday with most of the work being done on the inside of the home, HFH officials said. Some outside painting will be done which will require work from a ladder to reach the height of the home.

HFH Director Alecia Glaize said additional volunteers will be need next week to work on carpentry aspects of the home.

“We are also looking for people with carpentry skills who are available during the week of Feb. 18-22,” Glaize said. “An experienced carpenter will be installing laminate flooring, cabinets, doors and trim and could use some assistance.”

Anyone interested in volunteering for painting or carpentry duty is asked to contact HFH officials by calling 809-0095 or by coming to the build site on work days.
