TRM JV softball goes 3-1 in Thomasville tourney

In the Thomasville JV softball tournament Saturday, the T.R. Miller Lady Tiger JV team went 3-1 to see their record improve to 5-1 this season.
The Lady Tigers opened the tournament 3-0 before falling in their final game of the day.
T.R. Miller opened with a 9-2 win over Jackson and followed that with a 5-4 win over Excel.
In their third game, the Lady Tigers took down Demopolis 6-3 before closing out the tournament with a 12-2 loss to Thomasville.
The Lady Tigers will play at Atmore Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. and at home against W.S. Neal on Thursday. Game time Thursday is also set for 5:30 p.m.
TRM JV 9, Jackson 2
In the Thomasville tournament Saturday, T.R. Miller opened with a 9-2 win over Jackson.
Madison Douglas and Taylor Austin were both 2-for-3 with a double and Leslie Holmes was 1-for-2 with a double.
Krystal Bell, Holmes and Madalyn Weaver all had one RBI each while Austin had two.
Austin earned the win on the mound going two innings and allowing one hit, no runs, walked and struck out one.
Steely Ruzic went one inning and allowed one hit, two runs, none earned, walked and struck out one.
TRM JV 5, Excel 4
In game two Saturday, T.R. Miller took down Excel 5-4.
Bell, Hannah Weaver, Holmes and Molly Jackson all had hits. Longmire, Myra Reiss and Holmes had one RBI each while Jackson had two.
Austin was the winning pitcher as she allowed three hits, four earned runs, walked and struck out four in four innings.
TRM JV 6, Demopolis 3
In game three, T.R. Miller doubled up Demopolis 6-3.
Steely Ruzic and Austin were both 2-for-3 while Madalyn Weaver was 1-for-2.
Austin had three RBIs and Bell and Weaver both had one RBI each.
Austin was the winning pitcher and went two innings, allowed two runs, one earned, walked three and struck out one.
Steely Ruzic pitched three innings and allowed four hits, one run, none earned, walked and struck out none.
Thomasville 12, TRM JV 2
In their final game, the T.R. Miller JV softball team took a tough loss as they lost to Thomasville 12-2.
Steely Ruzic, Bell and Holmes were all 1-for-2 while Longmire was 2-for-2. Bell and Holmes had one RBI each.
Austin took the loss on the mound going two innings and allowing three hits, four runs, none earned, walked one and struck out none.
Steely Ruzic went 1 2/3 innings and allowed five hits, eight runs, three earned, walked and struck out none.
