Errors cost WSN softball at Bayside Academy

The W.S. Neal Lady Eagle softball team committed 10 errors Tuesday that led to a 10-4 area loss to the Bayside Academy Lady Admirals. With the loss, the Lady Eagles fell to 6-6 overall and to 1-1 in area play.
Bayside led W.S. Neal 4-2 after one inning and 7-2 after two innings. W.S. Neal cut the lead to 7-3 in the third and 7-4 in the fifth, but fell to three Bayside Academy runs in the sixth inning to take the loss by six.
Kaitlin Hadaway took the loss in the circle for the Lady Eagles. Hadaway went six innings and struck out 10, allowed six hits and no earned run.
At the plate, Karissa Johnson led the way with a 2-for-2 day including a double, one RBI, a sacrifice bunt and two stolen bases.
Kena Ellison was 1-for-2 and Hadaway was 1-for-3. Tori Wyatt went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and Haleigh Dubose was 1-for-4.
W.S. Neal head coach Jeff Haney had no comment on the game.
W.S. Neal will look to get back in the win column Thursday as they travel to Brewton to take on T.R. Miller in an area game. The varsity will play at 4 p.m. followed by the JV at 5:30 p.m.
