WSN baseball now 8-0 with win over Flomaton, but JV falls to the Hurricanes

The W.S. Neal Eagle varsity baseball team kept their record perfect Thursday night in Flomaton as the No. 1-ranked Eagles took down the Hurricanes 7-3.
W.S. Neal held Flomaton to one run in the fifth and two in the sixth while getting one run of their own in the second, two in the third, fourth and fifth innings to seal the four-run win.
Brian Settle improved to 4-0 this year on the mound for the Eagles as he picked up the win. Settle went six innings, struck out eight, walked three and surrendered three hits in the win. Keith Bradley went the final inning and struck out one.
While doing work on the mound, Settle also did work at the plate, as he was 3-for-3 with a double and one RBI. Tyler Joyner was 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI and Dylan Godwin was 1-for-3 with a double and three RBIs.
With the win, the Eagles improved to 8-0 this season.

Flomaton 6, WSN JV 4
In JV action Thursday, the Eagles of East Brewton saw their winning streak end with a 6-4 loss to the Hurricanes.
Dakota Graves, Jared Cooper, Lane Chavers and Sam Frazier all had hits for the Eagles. Nick Laster had one RBI while Derrick Barton had two RBIs.
Laster took the loss on the mound and struck out one, walked three and allowed two earned runs. Colton Morris and Justin Sessions also pitched in the loss.
