WSNMS baseball drops two games to Central

In their first home game this season Thursday against Central, the W.S. Neal Middle School baseball team was swept to fall to 1-8 overall this season.
In game one, the W.S. Neal Eagles lost 5-2 and then took a 7-4 loss in game two.
In game one, W.S. Neal led 2-0 after the first inning but gave up five runs in the second to take the loss by three.
Jacoby Hawthorne was 2-for-3 at the plate and Connor Huskey was 1-for-3. Brandon Moye was the pitcher of record and went five innings and allowed five runs, two earned, two hits, struck out four, and walked one.
In game two, W.S. Neal once again led early with four runs in the first, but fell to a seven-run fourth inning to lose 7-4.
Hawthorne led the Eagles with a double at the plate. Huskey, Moye, Matt Hutchins, and Hunter Revel all had hits and one RBI each.
Huskey took the loss on the mound going four innings and allowed five runs, three earned, walked one, allowed hits and struck out six.
W.S. Neal will play their final game of the season Monday at home against Excel. Game time is set for 4 p.m. and will be a doubleheader.
