JDCC softball swept by Southern Union

In an added game Tuesday for the Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk softball team, the Lady Warhawks were swept by Southern Union to fall to 10-27 overall this year.
JDCC lost game one to Southern Union 11-0 and took a 6-5 loss in game two.
In game one, JDCC was held to only three hits and made two errors in the 11-0 loss.
Southern Union scored in each of the four innings to help aid in the win. SU led 3-0 after the first innings, 7-0 after the second, 8-0 after the third inning and added three more runs in the fourth.
At the plate, Kayla Watson, Jennifer Fisher and Mindy Walker all had hits in the loss.
Jessica Swindle was the pitcher of record and she went five innings and allowed eight hits, 11 runs, seven earned, walked eight and struck out three.
In game two, despite out hitting SU 11-9, the Lady Warhawks took a 6-5 loss.
At the plate, Morgan Agerton, Fisher, Paige Odom, Laura Zeegers, Kiera Dawsey and Sarah Beth Watkins all had hits. Watkins went 3-for-4 while Fisher and Odom both had doubles. Odom, Zeegers and Breanna Hall all had one RBI each.
Hall took the loss in the circle going seven innings and allowing eight hits, six runs, four earned, walked none and struck out six.
JDCC’s home conference game Thursday against Faulkner State has been postponed until Sunday, April 14. Game time is set for noon and 2 p.m.
