Brewton’s first responders and cleanup crews were on the scene of a downtown mishap for more than an hour Thursday after a log truck spilled its load at the intersection of Alabama 41 and U.S. 31.

Although the log truck cab was severely damaged in the mishap, the driver of the vehicle was not injured in the incident that toppled the trailer and cab of the rig.

The incident occurred just after 10:30 a.m. and kept traffic at a slow pace until work crews could clear the scene.

Brewton fire and police staff manned the scene to keep traffic moving through the area. City of Brewton employees were also at the scene to assist with cleanup and assess damage to the property involved in the incident.
