TRM softball to have summer play-date Thursday

The T.R. Miller Lady Tiger softball team will be joined by six other teams Thursday, June 13, for a summer play-date softball tournament.
Along with T.R. Miller will be Daphne, Hillcrest, Thomasville, Elba, Saraland, and Jay will play in a round-robin tournament beginning at 9 a.m. at the Brewton Area YMCA Sports Park.
At 9 a.m. on field D, T.R. Miller will take on Hillcrest while Saraland and Jay will play on field A.
At 10:10 a.m., Thomasville and Elba will tangle on field D while Daphne and Jay play on field A.
At 11:20 a.m., T.R. Miller will meet Thomasville while Hillcrest and Saraland will play each other.
At 12:30 p.m., a 30-minute lunch break will take place as well as field repair with games resuming at 1 p.m. At that time, Elba will play Daphne while Jay and Hillcrest will play on field A.
At 2:10 p.m., T.R. Miller meets Elba while Thomasville and Saraland will tangle on field A. At 3:20 p.m., Thomasville meets Daphne on field D while Hillcrest and Elba will play each other on field A.
The last games of the day will begin at 4:30 p.m. with a matchup of T.R. Miller and Jay on field D and Daphne and Saraland on field A. All seven teams will play four games each.
Games will be five innings or with a “drop dead” time limit of one hour. A 15-run rule and a 10-run rule will be in effect. A coin toss will determine the home team and the concession stand will be open.
An admission price of $5 is good for all day.
The play-date originally had eight teams set to play in it, but Calhoun dropped out.
