State troopers have released information this morning about a wreck that killed a Brewton man Monday night.

The single-vehicle crash killed Edward “Joey” Allen, 25, a passenger in a 2001 Ford Explorer, which troopers said ran off the road and overturned.

The accident occurred on U.S. 31 North, about four miles north of Brewton, at about 6:20 p.m.

The driver, Virginia “Ginny” Allen, 25, also of Brewton, was injured and transported to Sacred Heart Hospital, troopers said.

Edward Allen was not wearing a seat belt, troopers said.

Nothing further is available as State Troopers continue to investigate.
