City officials are hoping a second August date will help grow vendors and buyers for the Choo-Choo Market held at Jennings Park. And to help draw more participation, the registration fee for the event has been waived for the month.
The first market day was held Aug. 3 with response prompting officials to set a second August date.
The event will be held Aug. 17 from 7 a.m. to noon and officials say the registration fee and tent requirements have been waived for the August dates.
The main focus will be to attract local farmers who have produce available for sale during this harvest season. Others who have produced jellies, jams, pickles or baked goods are invited to participate as well.
Arts and crafts vendors are also welcome, but a sample of work to be available at the market event must be submitted for approval before market day, officials said.
To submit a sample of arts and crafts items, visit the Brewton City Hall on Douglas Avenue. For other details or information or to reserve a spot for the event, contact Brewton Program Manager Connie Baggett at 809-1777.
